Previous visitors to Koh Tao may remember eating at Su Chilli, a popular restaurant in central Sairee. They served tasty food, had amazing staff, and generously sized food portions. Sadly, the owners of Su Chilli left Koh Tao and relocated to the mainland The good news is that some of the staff stayed on Koh Tao and opened their own Thai food restaurant. We are relieved that the popular tastes and flavours can live on. If you were a fan of Su Chilli, you will love Chuchu Thai Food!
At this restaurant, the staff specialise in authentic Thai flavours. Their restaurant has proved to be a huge success. The venue now also has another seating area just across the street.
Food
While the menu is not extensive (and we’re sure it will grow over time!), the quality, portions and flavours are excellent. There are several curries (penang, massaman, green, and red) that account for a variety of spice preferences, plus fried rice dishes, and classics like chicken cashew nut, pad krapow, and fresh spring rolls.
All meals are cooked fresh to order and come with a portion of steamed rice for 10THB extra. One of the most popular menu items that remain from the Su Chilli days is the Western fusion ham and cheese sticks. Think of a ham and cheese spring roll served with a wasabi dip, and bingo, you have yourself a Chuchu Thai Food speciality!
